I know it is completely beautiful outside and summer is going to be so much fun! I know there's lots of kids out of school out there already, but unfortunately school goes all the way to the end of June here.
However, the arrival of summer somehow gives me a feeling of uncertainty as far as parenting. I go back and forth about how much structure to plan into our days. Do I try to keep...

Right now I have a headache and can't really think of what to write so I am bugging Rach to write something for me. So here she is!
Hi. Monday I walked from school, did laundry, watched the Avengers, did laundry, slept, got up Tuesday morning, school, did laundry, chilled with old people at a nursing home last night, came home, did laundry, went to bed, got up this morning, went to...

Dear Mom,
Since I am unorganized and didn't mail something out in time, I thought I'd post here for you. Truth be told, I did look at 2 stores for cards and either didn't see anything I liked or didn't want to pay $5 for a card (you wouldn't like that anyway, right?)
We had our Mother/Daughter tea today at the chapel and I shared the devotion. I know you...

Our family is really busy. I'm sure you can say that about yours as well! I am in a constant state of evaluation of what things are working and what things aren't for our household. And I'm also always feeling like a failure when it comes to certain things – like a chore system! Why is it that I feel so obligated to have a chore system that will work for us?...

I never wanted to be the Mom that said, "Because I said so – that's why!" And I generally I am not. I find myself trying to talk and explain or at least discuss my decisions to my kids. Sometimes it's not the best because then they always are waiting for an explanation. But I just think that having communication with them about issues is the best....

Hello my name is Chantal Dube, and I am a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ recovering from over spending, co-dependency and depression. I am a professional harpist and have shared my testimony of faith with hundreds of people while performing my latest CD Still Moments.
I slightly re-wrote my testimony for Sherri to share with you on this blog and I hope it brings...

Yesterday at supper we were reading Proverbs 22. If you read my post on Facebook last night, you would know that Gracie learned a little something about obeying parents. Caleb picked up on another verse:
The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside!” or, “I will be murdered in the streets!”
We had a quite interesting talk about being lazy and not...

This won't be a long post. I just wanted to post some pictures of Ben (13) from last Tuesday night. We were at a local nursing home and Ben was scheduled to speak. Even though he was nervous about it, he put together a wonderful message about Spring and new life and how the people there could receive new life in Christ and become new creations. It was well thought out and...

Last night Rachel and I headed over the border for some clothes shopping for her. We had such a great time talking and looking for things for her to try on. We did really well with finding things for her, but it does take some time to sort through all the options. One area we did not do well in was looking for shorts. The shorts we did see were ridiculously short – as in...

You would think that after having 5 kids and being a mom now for almost 16 years (YIKES!) that I would know that things don't always happen how I had planned. You would think that I would be prepared for anything. Or that I would expect the unexpected.
When Gracie went to bed with a fever and a sore throat last night, I kind of knew that I would have to make a visit to the...
