Little Tian

This morning on Facebook I noticed a post by Mama Doland – she and her husband were like second parents to me in high school and are very special to me as well now.  Their daughter Melissa and I have been the best of friends forever and although we don't keep in touch as regularly as we would like due to our very busy lives, I know we both value our relationship greatly. 

So Mama D posted this:

Two years ago today a baby girl was born in China…but soon after her birth, she was abandoned at a gate to a vegetable market. She would spend the next 14 months of her life in an orphanage until last November, when my daughter and her family traveled to China to get her. I thank the Lord every day for this PRECIOUS gift God gave our family. Happy 2nd Birthday….Tian Yao!!!!!! We love you SO much!

 

Yes, Melissa and James have adopted an adorable little girl (to add to their other adorable kids) and this summer I was able to finally meet Tian when myself and my 3 youngest kids were able to meet up with Melissa and kids in Ohio.  We were happy my mom was also able to meet us there as well.  Here are some pics from our time together.  The Lord is good!
